Our Legacy
Hammett Asphalt Paving Inc's history of excellence started in 1945 when the company was founded by Harold J. Hammett. Back then, it was known as Harold J. Hammett Asphalt Paving before his son, Wilbur joined the business in 1951 and it was then renamed to Harold Hammett and Son Asphalt Paving.
The company merged in 1971 and changed its name to Hammett Asphalt Paving Inc as known to this day. Harold Hammett passed in 1973 with Wilbur taking his place in running the business until he passed away in 2022.
Wilbur’s sons, Jeff and Jerry, have joined in managing and running the company. To this day, the fourth generation of Hammett’s are helping with day to day operations of the company, providing the same consistent excellence that Harold. J. Hammett started.
At present, Hammett Asphalt continues to expand and broaden their range of service by maintaining and refining their fleet of trucks and upgrading their equipment to make room for improvements to contribute to their impressive workmanship.
With over 150 years worth of combined experience, Hammett Asphalt Paving Inc continues to provide Mansfield, OH and its surrounding areas in Richland, Ashland, Crawford and surrounding counties the same quality of trustworthy service recognized for its efficiency and excellence.
At Hammett Asphalt our mission is to provide north central Ohio & Mid-Ohio with the very best asphalt service. We believe in showing up with clean equipment and leaving a jobsite cleaner than when we arrived. Our core values are cleanliness, performing work in a timely and professional manner and giving our customers a great looking, long-lasting product no matter the size or the scope of the project.
